Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

- Zelda -

Perhaps it was the protective caring nature of her Aztec bloodline shining through in the moments she spotted the girl. Her heart still pounded in her chest at the sheer terror she felt from thinking that the young life might have been lost. The healer knowledge told Zelda that the girl from far from out of danger. Her body heat would help stave off the cold for a time, but they would need a warmer, dryer place to make sure she was completely safe. For the moment she would do her best to keep her from shutting down. Thankfully there were some good signs off the bat. Her body began shivering heavily, long as she was doing that it meant she hadn’t gone into full hypothermia just yet. Her soft words of gratitude brought a smile to Zelda’s maw though. ”Think nothing of it, I would hope any passerby would do the same.” She said before trying to groom the briny water from the child’s pelt. It was gross, as all sea water was, but Zelda still fervently cleaned the dark pelted child regardless. With the smell of salt water it was impossible to tell where she had come from and where her family was, but that could come later.

Teeth chattering the girl spoke up again, asking where they were. Zelda took a few moments to clean what she could reach of the girls neck and shoulders before she replied, ”The mouth of the Aplos River. Spirane is just over there.” She motioned to the towering mountain in the distance, ”Where are you from? Where’s your family?” Zelda asked her. She wanted to keep the girl awake, alert and talking, though part of her wanted to have her save her strength. Still the sooner Zelda could get her home and reunited with her family the better as well.

Her tongue felt rough with the brine, but Zelda was diligent to the job. She could drink from the river later, or purge what she had too. There was a short pause though in her cleaning once again, ”I’m Zelda, who are you, young one?” She wanted to know, the girl seemed to trust her, so that was good, but Zelda felt it was good to let her know who she was and also vise versa. Zelda knew a lot of wolves so maybe she would recognize a name or anything she said to better help her out.
