STUCK IN YOUR WONDERLAND
If this female had voiced her thoughts aloud, Ramos may have scoffed amusedly. He had never been comfortable around the Seer or even his apprentice. There was something off about wolves of that nature, at least in his opinion. It seemed as though a part of them was always somewhere else that was out of physical reach and were never truly present in the moment. The emotion he felt was just that, discomfort. He may have called it fear back then but he knew what fear was now.
Fear is what had driven him to Moladion in the first place.
And perhaps it was that taste of sheer terror that broke way to an unsuppressable curiosity. A curiosity that held him still in this young girl’s presence as she rambled off about the weather in response to his own statement. She seemed to enjoy the topic, judging by how she spoke and the detail she put into her words. He cocked a pale brow, a light smirk tugging at one corner of his lips, at the mention of her homeland being covered in snow as well. "I know little of the climate here either. I’m just hoping the winters are long and summers short if I choose to stay."
He paused for a moment, pale yellow-green gaze picking over her small form again. "What was the weather like in your part of this world? I’d be surprised if wolves as small as yourself could endure a cold environment as harsh as the one I hail from." He was careful to keep his tone light as to not insult her. He was curious to know as the only predators her size had been foxes and runts who were confined early to inner-pack duties.
The conversation shifted as he inquired after what she was doing in the caves and her response brought a chuckle to his black lips. Her words seemed to be rushing quicker out of her mouth than she could form them, her midnight tail waving about behind her. Maybe the large brute had an unexplored soft spot for youth. Maybe he had just gone too long without genuinely energetic company.
Her next question, however brought his mood down just a bit. "Unfortunately, I’m not, love." His ochre ears flicked apologetically as he replied through lax lips. As he finished, Ramos cast his gaze down to the earthen floor beneath the pair, assured that his company wouldn’t take the lapse in his judgement to her advantage. Contemplating the next words that were to tumble from his mouth was slightly more important. Against his gut feeling that caves were not to be trifled with for the very same reason he had a minuscule hitch in his stride, keeping his current company ruled out finding a nice place above ground to sleep.
The cream brute snapped his focus back onto her and lifted his stub of a tail to give a gentle wag. "If you’d like, we can use the last of the light to explore." He took a could of steps closer to put himself alongside the tiny girl with the strange eyes. "I’m Ramos, by the way."
