Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Fall was an exciting time for Badar! While others hurried about burying food in their caches and re-establishing overgrown paths to save themselves trouble in winter, Badar spent most of her days enjoying what warmth remained in the river that divided Glorall and Diveen, or exploring the rockpools that dotted the shoreline. Come winter, she'd spend her time waiting for the ice bridge to form so that she might find her way across to the island of Glorall with ease. She had grown with little ability to feel stress in earnest, an unshakable force of adventure - she had Eva to thank for much of that. It was hard to worry when her sister had a new song everyday, even if Badar could never sing along to it.

Today though, she hadn't been able to rush off to her usual haunt before Eden had called her over. He had informed her that Iromar was to bring children with them to explore Glorall and that it would be a good idea for her to attend their gathering, to both meet them and also to keep an eye on both Shimmerpaw and Moonshade. He'd tell Eva and the others, and Badar couldn't help but give a sheepish smile - both for her muteness and because he had undoubtedly gone out of his way to find her first, knowing she was hard to find once she took off for the day. She was excited though - it wasn't often that she went out of her way to meet others even if she did enjoy it. Badar didn't see herself as lacking just because she had no voice, but she knew it made others uncomfortable at times so she'd found other ways to entertain herself in life rather than relying on others in that regard. But others were coming to see Glorall, and who knew Glorall better than she? She didn't need a voice to show them all the amazing things her home had!

When they arrived, she followed at a distance for a short while, trying to work out the dynamics of the group - she figured the older wolf with them was the mother of some of the children, and she seemed to be held in high esteem considering her permission to access to the pack readily. Was she Iromar's alpha? Badar hadn't been given an explicit description but it seemed to make sense - of course, it didn't do much to change Badar's approach. Ranks were just ranks, fancy words and permission to do all the boring work, so Badar didn't recognize them much beyond knowing to keep her tail low and her eyes moving. That was easy!

She couldn't bark out a greeting, or even yip in excitement, so instead she raced ahead so that she might meet them along the path. When she was ahead of them, she did her best to be obvious - she stood proudly on the trodden pathway, her tail waving and lips pulled back into a gleeful grin as she wiggled into a bow of both greeting and invitation. For understanding's sake, she made it clear she could utter no real noises - she made a move that looked as if she might go to speak or let out a yip but nothing substantial came out, merely a puff of air and the slightest of rasps. Maybe she wasn't the best wolf to be greeting them all but she had been the fastest to find them so, they either understood or they didn't. Badar had no real say in that - she just knew she'd welcome them along the path to the shore, a helpful guide on cheerful paws as they made their way to the ocean.
