Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Sibling to Niyol, Citlalli, Petra, & Itzel

Niyol had been extremely quiet as of late, which was suspicious in itself. It either meant he was too busy plotting his next big prank or he was already in the midst of it and was trying to lie low so no one caught onto it. Niyol was always up to something. Mochimal hadn't been as involved in the mischief as of late, though. His thoughts kept going back to the exotic girl from Asteraia. He wondered what she was up to and if she was playing with anyone else like she'd played with him. Did she go exploring with other wolves? Oddly enough, he thought he might be jealous. But surely, he was too young for such possessive emotions, right? He shook his head of such thoughts. He needed to get up and do something to stop this nonsense.

He decided to head out of Taviora for the day and find something to do in the free lands. Maybe he'd find someone to prank himself or find other wolves his own age and find out what fun there was to have in the free lands. He headed over the borders and into the free lands, following the sounds of water. When he found the river, he followed it for lack of anything better to do. The water was clear and fun to watch as it swept down the banks, splashing into rocks and falling down the uneven ground in small waterfalls before continuing on, no change in sight. When he saw fish swimming in it, he decided to try his luck at fishing. It didn't take him long to figure out he wasn't too good at it, though.

He pounced on the fish at first but they easily slipped through his paws, far more agile than he gave them credit for. So then he tried herding them toward land but of course they dodged at the last minute and he tripped a few times in his haste to cut them off, sending himself reeling onto the shore in frustration more than a time or two. Growling in frustration, he even tried swinging his paw at them like a bear would do, but he seemed to be too slow. How did the bears make it look so easy?
