sent from the heavens above...

He felt so tense in this new home. He'd caught the sharp eyes of Rougaru, Solaris' father, when they'd first met and it was easy to see he wasn't exactly welcomed onto the island. It appeared Rougaru just didn't want to say no to his daughter, but Angel was sure if he was alone, it might be a different story. He'd been trying to keep his head down since they arrived. He spent as much time with Galexia as he could. He couldn't get over how beautiful his daughter was. It was still hard to imagine. His daughter. He was a father. He watched her whenever possible. Everything she did was heart stopping and monumental, from her first steps to her first time drinking from Solaris. He couldn't help but smile when he thought of the milk smile she gave him once her belly had gotten full.

Watching her play on the island was a whole new form of entertainment. He could stand still and watch her for hours, not moving a muscle. Solaris was a great mother, but then, he'd never expected anything less of her. She was great at everything. He only dreaded the day when she would tire of him and go find someone else, someone stronger. Maybe the stallion she smelled of when she came to see him sometimes. He wondered about the other stallion but was too afraid to ask. He was afraid he wouldn't like what she said. Of course, you won't. You're weak and insecure. Of course, she'd find someone else. She'll want a stronger role model for your daughter. You're no father figure. It's like having two mothers when you're around. They can do much better.

"Well, I'm here and he's not." He clenched his jaws around the huffed words as he walked further into Paradise. He had to admit, the climate was much better suited for him here than the Inlet. It was warmer and his thin coat thanked him for it. He actually got the energy to run and kick up his heels here. The grazing was really good too. He enjoyed the warm waters he could find around the waterfalls further inland. He hoped Solaris would want to stay here. It's not like you can stay if she leaves. Rougaru doesn't want you here. Why would he want a female that can't be bred? You're no stallion, after all. You don't have a strong bone in you. "I just don't like to fight. There's a difference." He grumbled the words as he moved toward a particular set of waterfalls he'd come to enjoy on the island.

As he stopped at the pool of water at the base, he let out a contented sigh and looked around. He wondered what Solaris and Galexia were up to.
