The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Make 'em bow, one by, one by one...

The dark ears swivel when she hears footsteps behind her, knowing the familiar cadence that gave away that her hips still hurt her. That her mother was still not strong. Something had been stripped away from her when they had been attacked. Sorath didn't remember those changes before the attack and continued to hope that she would recover. She hangs her head and while she glances at Ruby with an embaressed look, she tucks her tail between her legs and whines softly while licking up to her mother, "Paenitet me mater mea" (I am sorry Mother) She offered her voice up as customary.

She then turns towards Ruby and watches her quietly. "This is my mother. Hepzibah, daughter of Ishtar--the Bloodmouth." She used the old titles, knowing that if anyone here still remembered her ancestors they may have only heard the old monikers. "I am Sorath." She did not offer anymore information, knowing that her mother would most likely take over.

She sighs as if the fun was gone from the whole encounter, her adventures cut short by the stranger and the discovery of her mother. Sorath could not spend the day resting and dozing the day away. There was too much to learn here and Sorath wanted so desperately to see what an alligator was and how the soft marshes felt under her feet. She wanted to see if the stories of her mother's childhood were true or if they were some sort of glorified memory that was painted gold by time. She glances at Hepzibah, "Et dicit quod daemones proximam sanguinis sui..." (She says her kin were demons) And then gave her a hopeful wag of her black tail, awaiting some sort of praise or recognition that even though she had strayed, she had done something positive for the pair of them. That she wasn't the child that she was. Sorath was having a hard time returning to the childhood the Angels had robbed from her.
