PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

enigmatic soul

K O L F I N N A

It had been days since the lone mare had first set foot upon the mighty Peak, and she had yet to discover all its secrets. She’d heard it said once that it took a lifetime to learn all there was to know about a mountain. Good thing she had the majority of her life left to learn this one. The striped grey mare had spent her daytime hours beginning to acquaint herself with the narrow winding paths that snaked up towards the mountain’s peak. From a distance, she thought she might’ve seen one or two figures moving on the slopes below, but she’d been in no position to race down and meet them. More than any terrain, or so she believed, mountainous regions were to be afforded great respect. All it took was for one second of inattentiveness, one false step, and just like that, the mountains would claim another life.

Kolfinna was navigating a rocky ledge low on the mountain slope when she heard the call. Dark grey ears stood alert atop her head, but she lingered a few moments more, studying the outcrop. It was southward facing, and would be a good place from which she could keep watch, affording her a clear view of the rest of the island. Nodding to herself, content with her evaluation, Kolfinna turned and carefully picked her way, catching a pair of fresh scents on the wind. With her muzzle pointed ahead, she approached, curious to meet the two who were, perhaps, as she was, new arrivals to this place.

Greetings to you both, she calls, after catching sight of the pair and drawing closer. I am Kolfinna, may I know your names? She glanced over the mares while she waited, noting their heavy builds, and their more-or-less identical appearances. They would make formidable warriors, Kolfinna surmised. They seemed close in age, and neither one seemed to take the lead, so the slighter grey mare figured they must be sisters. I’ve not long been here myself, she went on to explain. Further up the mountain I’ve come across a path that has seen frequent use. It’s sheltered from the wind there, so I managed to pick up a few scents, but I’ve yet to have met any who reside here.

A sharp breeze picked up, and Kolfinna fell silent, lifting her head in delight as her mane got caught up in the wind. A moment later, it died, and her mane settled haphazardly upon neck. She turned her bright eyes back to the two mares, eager to get to know them. If you’d like, I can show you around? I’m hopeful that one of the mares who lives here will return soon, but in the meantime, I’ll do what I can to make you both feel welcome.
