The weather had grown horrific back in Asteraia most seemed fine to hunker down opposed to those who had duties within the pack. It was nice to have food stored away at the very least, still while her family and mentor was busy she decided to take it upon herself to increase the food supply at least what she had stored away in her den, plus if she just happened to stumble into the forest pack what better to do than visit Mochi? She moved as silently as she had been able to with her size, still growing daily. Menkhet still had maintained being as graceful as she had ever been. On top of her lessons with Cuirass, she worked diligently to perfect her skills of deception and the art of hunting. The fem was eager to see if she could catch someone roaming alone who would be the perfect prize or even finding more traditional prey, after all, she was open to being an equal opportunist with weather such as this causing such grief.
A cold breeze shifted and the bitter air bit into her flesh, but it also the scent of blood and the scent of a stranger. The metallic tang caused her nostrils to flair as her paws found themselves in a brisk trot towards the direction she came. Menkhet was not malnourished my any means and perhaps looked better fed than most wolves during the winter so she was hardly confident in playing off the cold and hungry young girl but the fact her winter coat was so thick perhaps would be enough to permit her act to pass. If she was lucky someone had brought down a large prize and she just might be able to charm her way into a nice meal and if not perhaps someone was injured and she could simply finish off what they started. A vulnerable meal was very acceptable after all.
Slowing as the scent grew stronger Menkhet peered around checking to see if anyone were close and though the strange lupine scent seemed to be close it had to be further up. Mentally preparing Menkhet stalked forward slowly until her eyes caught the figure of another wolf standing over something she couldn’t quite make out from where she stood. She chuffed softly in order to get the males' attention. Content to stick to her act for now as she moved a paw forward she called out to the male.
Then she saw it, perhaps she had gotten a little to close to a fight or maybe it was one of her own kind, either way, it was a wolf at the strangers' paws and not some common doe. Her eyes now looked to meet the strangers watching his movements carefully. She wasn’t ready to give up her act just yet though she did wonder how he would react if someone could call him a murder. Even though she did not consider it that he knew nothing of her and Menkhet grew aware that she could be in very real danger depending on how the stranger perceived her. If it came to it she was confident she could escape with her life but she wondered if it would truly come to that.
