It was late at night or early in the morning, Ysabel couldn't tell, but the land was still very dark. Normally she would still be sleeping, but the pains of labor stirred her awake. This baby of Bjorn's has been somewhat annoying in her belly, but not like Isabel had been. She recalls her young daughter was very active in the womb and made it hard to sleep. This time her unborn child was quieter but made her emotions rise high than usual. It was annoying to feel such a rush of emotions all day long. She prays that now the foal will be born and her body will be hers again until the next breeding season comes along.

Her blue eyes look over at her sleeping daughter and she sighs. She was glad Isabel would be asleep for this. The palomino mare rises slowly from here she lay curled up with Isabel. She quietly steps away from the filly, but she keeps the sleeping form of her child in eyeshot. Ysabel just goes a far enough distance where Isabel wouldn't hear her. An hour passes, maybe more, and the birthing was over. Gentle lips reach down and caress the small ears of the chestnut colt that lays in the frosty grass. Ysabel was surprised to see such an ordinary-looking foal be born to two colorful parents.

She does not know what to call him yet so she waits. Bjorn might have a good idea of what to call his son. After the colt was standing, had his first taste of milk, Ysabel directs him back to where Isabel still sleeps. The curious chestnut colt sniffs at the sleeping filly. As his nose tickles the dunalino's ears the filly jumps up with a start. Isabel squeals at first but settles when he recognizes her mother and the scent on her baby brother. Isabel wags her tail and smiles at the chestnut colt, exchanging breaths with him.
