Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

samus
It was wrong of her, it really was, and she'd stayed away for so long because she'd know just how much of a damn mess she'd made. She'd chased a wild rabbit all the way to nowhere, is what she wanted to say-- but really, she had just taken off running one day and before she knew it, she was lost. Samus had never taken well to responsibility, and so her jaunt had turned into an excuse to see a bit more of the world for a few days, and those days had turned into months and, well, she was just so embarrassed that she hadn't tried that hard to find her way back. Only once she had come to the sobering realization she might never return did Samus start using her nose and her head to find Moladion again. Her heart ached for her Sila who she'd just up and left like it was nothing, and now she was returning with such a pathetic excuse.

Samus grumbled to herself as she made her way back to Spirane. "Dumb. So dumb, Samus, dammit, couldn't ya jus' have used yer damn.... brain...." She had no idea what was waiting for her back her anymore. It'd been destroyed by a meteor before, what if something like that had happened? What if it wasn't that Sila didn't want her back, but that she was gone too? The thought made her heart sink. "Maybe if ya spent more time thinkin' bout her, an less thinkin' bout... whatever the hell's always on yer mind, ya woulda got back a bit sooner." Samus mumbled, her eyes narrowing. Well, that habit certainly had to go-- she'd better keep her monologues internal from here on out. Did Spirane even exist anymore? What other pack could she get away with being such a layabout in?

Clearly, there was a lot on her mind as Samus finally found her way back to Moladion. Her lanky frame was a bit more gaunt than usually, her fur a fair bit duller and scruffier, but she didn't look too worse for wear-- maybe just in need of a good bath and a good meal. It would do her good not to have to sleep with one eye open, too. Her family had always said that the mountains were in their blood, and perhaps that was what had led her home in the end. She had tried not to admit it until she returned safely, in fear of jinxing herself, but Samus had no idea in hell how she'd found her way back. She really had been lost, until she wasn't. Now it was time to remember where she fit in.
