The thunder of the drums, dictates

Björn

where innocences burn in flames

Adrenaline surges through his veins, feeding the beast that has been caged for far too long. It snarls to the surface, finally free from the captivity that has held it restless. Despite Björn's internal protest, he allows his body to succumb to instinct and the ferocity of the beast. His glacial eyes narrow in on Raider, he moves are calculating and deliberate steps. As the distance shrinks between them, he can feel the sand shifting beneath his hooves, the wind as it breathes on his skin, and the thundering staccato of his heart.

He does not slow his attack even as Raider pivots to meet him. It only takes a split second for it to dawn on him what Raider is doing; Björn abandons his attack knowing that it will only end with him injured and rears onto his hind legs to meet him mid air. Their bodies collide with a sickening thud as each stallion seeks a mouthful of the other. Björn balances perilously on his hind legs as his front hooves brace against the chest of Raider, and his teeth seek the tender flesh of his throat. He can feel Raider's teeth find the muscling of his neck, scraping across his smoky hide, taking hair and hide with it. A roar erupts from his opened maw as he pushes his weight to right, and lunges away from Raider.

As his front hooves hit the sand, he rocks his weight forward and lashes his hind feet towards Raider if he decides to follow him. It is a powerful kick and if it finds its aim true, it will slow Raider down, possibly bruising his chest and weakening the roan Lagoonie.

Björn does not let his guard down as he pivots to face his opponent. His glacial eyes narrow as his gaze falls on Raider, waiting impatiently for his next move.

As the seconds tick by, a movement in the brush catches his attention. He risks a glance, to insure it wasn't another Lagoonie coming to Raider's aid. His eyes open wide as his eyes settle on the innocent and curious face of a child. He can feel the thunderous staccato of his heart. She is in immediate danger. He knows that if he has seen the child that the Lagoonie would of as well. Out of instinct, he steps between Raider and her; he arches his neck and strikes the sand at his hooves as a warning. If Raider is smart, he will high tail it out of here to join his slithering brethren.

"Touch the child and today you will draga andann þinn," he growls with his eyes flashing.
