Every stone, and every leaf. Every beat of blood puling through his veins. It's all a work of art. The world in all its beautiful intricacies keeps Kestral inspired. Every day he is inspired to live life anew, and explore every gift that he's been given. He is trapped here on this mountain, but confinement is only a feeling, a feeling that has no power over a free mind. Kestral's imagination soars with Keen. He investigates every thicket and every cavern, each deer trail and rabbit hole on this mountain. There is so much to see in just this space and it is ever changing with the weather and the seasons. Each passing of the sun and moon change the old to create the new.
To be still upon the mountain too is a gift. If he can be still, he can listen to the whispers of the mother, and search every rabbit hole inside himself. His own mind is a kaleidoscope of colors. So many memories wait to be explored, and theories beg to be redrafted. Among the memories he visits often are ones of Rhadra. The dark mare that wonders upon the world just like he does has left him hungering for more of her company. It's rare for Kestral to crave the company of someone specific, but this mare has made an impression.
Kestral's ears prick forward conversationally as he listens. Mention of Keen only widens his smile further. "I would love to winter here with you, Rhadra. You are a welcome sight for sure." He admits, never ashamed of his own feelings.
"Keen is my guiding light. I'm glad she can be yours too." Keen and Kestral are two souls intertwined, destined to find each other in this life and the next. They are not always mates, but they are bonded companions, two halves of a whole. Regardless of their physical forms, they depend on one another.
"I am well. And you?" He asks, honestly wanting to know. Kestral doesn't small talk. He won't ask a question he isn't truly seeking and answer for. He meets the mare half way for an exchange of breath, breathing in the smell of her cheek as she does the same to his. What once was unfamiliar becomes familiar.
