All she thinks for a moment as the fella approaches is, how much shorter he was than her. If she’d had eyebrows she might’ve had one raised, but she does her best to contain it and instead watches as he approach her with bright eyes, and maybe a little hint of a smile, maybe even smirk marring her face.
At least he seemed to have the decency to keep some distance and not touch her. She wasn’t a violent lass, but she couldn’t stand it when others got too close without wining and dining her first.
And he was straight to the point too. Well, more or less. Leyra also, for now, avoids a short joke.
“You know, it is funny that the Island has this great name but you land is… the Bay? Would be better if it was called that but it was actually a valley in the middle of the island. Then it would be called the Bay but it’s actually got nothing to do with the name.”
She rattles off. There was never much in the way of a filter for her, and she did enjoy talking.
She grins.
“Call me Leyra,” she adds in an afterthought, realising it was better than being given some awful pet name for them to know her actual name. Leyra rests a hind leg as she watched him, and still found it somewhat amusing that she was quite a bit taller than he.
But then Leyra was quite easily amused. Sometimes.
