Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Her words caught him off guard, though he did his best not to show it. After all, he had not been expecting company. In fact, he had been debating whether or not he ought to venture over to Natiya's island retreat again. With winter nearing them, he had wanted to extend an invitation to her to take refuge on the mainland lest the island be too alive with winter storms for her liking. Of course, it was difficult to decide on the right moment. He was, however, glad that he had decided to wait longer. Matianak was a familiar face and name to him, but not familiar enough to trust with any kind of secret like Natiya. In fact, he thought it quite prudent to distrust her with it - to distrust anybody, really. Matianak was simply an easier decision in that regard thanks to her blood. Underidge was Eden's wolf, not Elohim's.

He had been on his way towards the river that separated Diveen and Glorall when she had found him. She called out and he paused, a single ear having flicked back to acknowledge her while he considered the best course of action. After a moment, he decided to turn back to her - his head, at least. With a raised brow, he looked over his shoulder and called back to her with his usual humor: "Ah, because you were looking There and Then." Elohim could not help but grin at that, though the expression fell flat when she mentioned his father. "You expect no less? Why, I'm flattered to hear I'm living up to those expectations so soon," he said with a roll of his shoulder. He turned back around then, and motioned for her to join him. Just because he'd been found didn't mean he had any less reason to carry on with his task, after all.

Besides, it gave him some time to consider Matianak herself. He'd noticed the scars across her face, though he'd done his best to not acknowledge them too much. Still, his eyes hadn't been entirely capable of not lingering on them. They were stretched out over her like fine silver webs, obvious even with her pale fur. Who had given them to her? And was it his place to ask? Should an alpha ask? He rolled his eyes at his own question, not concerned with whether she saw it or not. Let her expectations fall flat if they must - Elohim wasn't ashamed to admit that he had his own inner arguments.

Eventually, he decided not to bring them up. At least, not right then and there. She'd come to him, so he imagined she had a motive beyond wanting him to notice those particular marks. If that had been her intention, she might have been clearer about it. Instead, she'd been much more like what he had expected given who her father was. He smirked, amused by that thought too. Slaves to blood and all that, no? Eden had mumbled about those kinds of ideas here and there too.

"So, you've been searching, and now that you've found your quarry, how shall you proceed?" He asked without looking at her, and instead he focused on their path ahead. As far as Matianak was concerned, she had just inadvertedly started keeping him company on his rather mundane task.
