PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

“Oh,” Rhadra says with a brief frown as her brow furrows, ears turning to the sides. “They don’t sound very pleasant. Perhaps, though, it has all been a misunderstanding?” Her tail flicks idly at her hocks as she considers Collision. “It’s natural for stallions to covet mares. I suppose a band of them is about as strange as a band of mares without stallions, but... Well, Kestrel lives here,” she muses as her gaze unfocuses, puzzling out the situation verbally. “So surely some of those same mares, those ‘trinkets’ as you say, were there by choice?”

Rhadra shrugs it off as unimportant, because to her it is. Just as the social squabbles between the band stallion and band mare of her old herd meant little to her, so do the greater politics of her new home. Especially distracted as she is by the life kicking within her womb. An actual miracle. She’s starry eyed again and recalls herself to her company with a small jolt. “Me? Oh, I’m fairly new still compared to some. I arrived midsummer and decided to winter at the Peak.” She huffs contentedly. “I like it here quite a bit. I’d never seen mountains before, you know, and— is this your first time on the Peak?” Her ears twitch forward as she leans a little closer.

“These heights are amazing. Come, I’ll show you one of my favorite spots— you can see down into the Crossing and all the horses there are so small! They look like ants. How must we be to them, staring up at all this stone?” She laughs as she moves past him with a friendly bump of her shoulder against his before taking the lead. It isn’t a far trek from where they’ve stood, but with the increasing elevation, treacherous icy patches, and thinning air, it takes some effort and time to climb the slope to Rhadra’s favorite, and first-discovered, vantage point of the Crossing isle. “I don’t know that it would be defined as ‘fun,’” she says as they climb. “But one of my favorite things to do up here is just look. It never gets old!”

Rhadra finally halts on a wide, flat switchback that wraps around the mountain and leads ever higher, grinning as she glances back at Collision. “Go look,” she urges him to step closer to the edge, her eyes on his face as she waits with delight to see his expression change at the immense sprawl of land visible from this height before she will step up beside him to share it.
