Rules � The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. � Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission. � All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say. � Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. � You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

They�re Catching Onto Us

They said we'd burn so bright.
We burn this city and go.

Paradiso hung cooly in the background, never far from Maziel, even as the herd rose from the ocean and onto the familiar shore of the Crossing Isle. Nostalgia struck him hard in the face as he surveyed the Meadow and then the Falls - all such poignant places of his past. This place felt so far away from his current life, however. Almost eerily so. The young stallion had stomached the idea that he'd likely never see his family again - Evaline, Shamwari, Vita Nova - when he chose to follow Maziel and her family and departed the islands. Despite the weight that came from a decision like that, the spotted stallion had been at peace with it. Maziel was his life now. He knew Shamwari would understand.

But now he was here, again, and his feelings ranged greatly depending on the minute. He was homesick, knowing just how close he was to the Prairie. But he dreaded what he would find in his old home. What if Shamwari wasn't there anymore? Despite this inner conflict, Paradiso grit his teeth and followed Oswin obediently. He decided he could only face one problem at a time, and the first one was immediate unrest within their own little cohort. The tensions between Mariael and Oswin had been hard on all of them. But it came to a head, and he was hopeful the worst of it was behind them.

His whiskered lips nuzzled at Maziel's hip as they walked through the valley and toward the mountain Peak. Paradiso had never been this far into Vulcan territory, and tread cautiously, despite Oswin's reassurances. As one dark mare came to greet them, he hung quietly in the back, pressing the side of his body into Maziel's to remind her he was ever-present, and ever vigilant on her behalf.

The exchange between Oswin and the Peak mare named Wasp was to the point. But he worried over the Peak mare's stare and how it hovered over Zevulun. Not all mares enjoyed the stallion's lackadaisical, catty attitude, and Paradiso nipped at the stallion's shoulder as a reminder to keep quiet. This was Oswin's time to make a good impression. But his dark-tipped ears flicked forward and back as another mare approached, hovering somewhat in the distance. He breathed in her scent and snorted, his head rising high above his withers as he watched her curiously. He nickered to Oswin then to alert her of the new addition, and watched cautiously as the conversation continued.
