but I shine the brightest

The black stallion suddenly moves with her words as if he had not noticed her approach. She startled at his reaction, lifting a front hoof and taking a quick step back. Her eyes gets wide as she snorts, but then he speaks. His voice was soft and low, unthreatening, so she places her hoof back on the ground and collects herself. She didn't understand why he couldn't lool her in the eye for long, but she thanks he didn't understand how things worked around here. He repeats her name as if to remember it so she grins with a touch of pride.

It felt good to come out here to talk to strangers lile she owned the place when actually she owned nothing. She had a home, but she had no special ranking or freindship with the Shore Queen. She wanted one sure, but she barely had the courage to talk to Xiomara. His mame entets her mind with a comment. His name was weird, two words and one of them being a color. It was obvious he came from somewhere far away with a name like that. He had odd manners, too.

Galexia watches him curiously when he didn't send out his muzzle to meet her own. He simply gave a bow of his head which showed some acknowledgment, but not the kind she asked for. She nods as he confirms with words that he was new to the islands. It was pretty obvious, but if felt more real to hear him say it. He then compliments the commons and asks if she lives here. "I don't live here exactly, but I do call these islands home." She gives him a small smile, but het features quickly turn serious.

He had to know the way of life here and how respected the mares were around these parts. "I don't know where you come from but just an fyi, mares around here are strong and some are even figure heads. It shows respect to always look them in the eyes when they speak to you." She stares at him without blinking. "My Queen, for example, just recently led her herd to safety from a terrible tropical storm. I am still alive because of her." Of course Xiomara couldn't take all the credit, but Galexia would gladly give it to her. In her eyes, her Queen was magnificent.
