Knowing that Cerosi would be safe with him a little longer unless Ironclad decided to try again, Cain sighed and headed toward the Crossing. He hadn't been there in a while and figured he would stop by to see if anyone wanted company. Maybe he'd even find a mare that needed a home. With the breeding season still upon them, he was sure stallions would be swarming there to herd them off and spread their seed. He paused for a moment, his skin shivering with anger but also feeling like such a hypocrite. He'd once been just like that. He was a monster and he would never let himself forget it. But now he could try to save mares from the other monsters. He would keep fighting for the ones who needed it. The ones like Cerosi and Nasa and the others. As long as they looked to him for protection, he'd be there. The draft stallion pushed himself through the cold ocean waves, churning his sturdy legs until he made it to the shore of the Common.

As he washed up on shore, he was met by a strange sight. There was a beautiful blue roan paint mare watching the waves. The breeze played in her long mane and tail as she closed her eyes. She seemed so at peace. Cain sighed as he shook the water from his coat. He knew that wouldn't last long, not with the scent of her heat all around her like a cloud. It was sure to call in the other stallions in droves. Pricking his ears, he moved toward her but stopped a few feet away, giving her plenty of space so she wouldn't feel crowded. He kept his posture as neutral as possible, not wanting to spook her as he spoke gently. "Hello, miss. My name is Cain. You're in a place called the Common, if you didn't know. Stallions can come and force you to a herd if you're not careful, but there is a place on either side of here where it's safe. I can escort you there, if you like." His brown eyes are kind and patient as he waited for her reply, knowing time might not be on their side. He could already smell a familiar scent close by, Atlantis. Rougaru, perhaps? He'd already had one run-in with the stallion and he'd rather not have a repeat.

Figured he might as well get it all out, he looked at her again. "I can also offer you sanctuary in my home if you'd rather go there. It's a desert, so nothing fancy, but it's safe there and you can leave whenever you want. Your choice."
