Israfel had been half-way through the story of how he had met Samia when Thor had snuck up on them. Well, he snuck up on Israfel. Silverwind, to the contrary, had indeed noticed him and had nipped his father's shoulder to get his attention. Even with the warning, Israfel was still surprised when Thor called out to them, his body giving a little upward jump before he quickly composed himself. Silverwind, all the while, had already started watching his uncle with a keen interest. After all, Thor had a distinct look, and Silverwind had most certainly heard all about him from both Israfel and Samia alike. In fact, he was very clearly excited to see them, with his little tail waving cheerfully behind him despite him not rushing forward. Despite his excitement, he had been taught well enough to not rush right into things - stay put and stay safe, Israfel had assured him at the start of their journey. Israfel was just as surprised when he saw Triton, though only because he was in such stark contrast to his father, Thor. In any case, Israfel could see plenty of Samia in him, and what he imagined must have been his mother too - a thought he quickly kept to himself, for he knew enough about Thor to know that was a difficult topic. Still, he couldn't hide his grin which had quickly formed, with both he and Silverwind almost matched for levels of excitement. "Thor! Triton! Well, I would have come looking for you the moment we got here had I known you were here today!" He bowed to the two of them, and then gently nudged Silverwind, who quickly obliged with a bow of his own, and a roll of his eyes (of course!). "This is -" But Silverwind was quick to cut him off, having now established the fact that they were his relatives. "I'm Silverwind! You must be uncle Thor, so you're my cousin! Mama talks about you a lot!" He bounded forward several strides, with Israfel quickly behind him. Without any hesitation, Silverwind stood up as tall as he could in front of the his uncle and cousin and jabbed his nose right into their chests one after the other. In their fur, he could smell all kinds of things, like the ocean, the sand, the trees - all kinds of things that he hadn't yet gotten to know about Glorall! Israfel, of course, tried to coax him away with a sheepish grin, but he had been born with Israfel's enthusiasm and Samia's stubborness. "Mama said you're a great hunter, uncle Thor, and you eat all kinds of things from the ocean. Do you eat them too, Triton? What kind of things are they?" He had barely moved away from them as his questions poured out of him, glancing wildly between the two with a broad, toothy grin. Israfel sighed, but couldn't help but grin just as broadly. After all, he was relentlessly proud of his son's curiosity. If there was something to know, he had no doubt Silverwind would discover it.While Silverwind bounded around Triton, poking and prodding wherever he could, Israfel took a moment to catch Thor's eyes with a look of concern. "You've been handling the flood here okay? You can always come back with us, you know. We both know Samia would love it if I could manage to persuade you." He grinned, but there was undoubtedly a searching nature to his gaze. Thor was, Israfel thought, very much a wolf of Glorall, but it pained him to imagine the man and his son having to risk themselves through flood and tides alike out of a sense of duty...or because they were still waiting for somebody. |
