Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Menkhet
i'm glad i learned that the universe
runs on death - it's more
beautiful to know.

How many months had she lingered just outside the cusp of Asteraia wearing a path from the Grotto to Gorall and back to Asteraia once again. She had prowled for Nyteshade and Moch in the free lands though after the call rang from her mother Menkhet decided it was time to move once again. Long elegant limbs carried her effortlessly over the land, a deep hunger glinting in her eyes. She would settle into her stride knowing the route with her eyes closed by now, the fem had even made the route all the more efficient.

She had made her arrival just as the rays of dawn where being cast over the oceanic pack. It still looked flooded though perhaps not as heavily the thick coated fem still felt the harsh bite of the water as she snaked her way into the land. Menkhet had a fondness for lingering towards the coast and today it seemed to be the most rewarding. A messy looking pup stood at the shore of the island almost looking as though it contemplated crossing. To the pups benefit it seemed as though the water was calm enough on the surface and even she might not have considered the current underneath. Leaping into the salt water the pup was quickly fighting to keep it's head afloat.

Menkhet's fangs glinted in the sunlight, her pink tongue sliding over her lips in anticipation. If it was already dead, surely the Sea King wouldn't mind and yet something prickled down her spine. A soft growl echoed in her throat as she sprang into action. Her jaws clasped the pups scurf before he could be dragged under and carried into the deep sea. Her eyes lingered harshly as she carried the patchwork pup to a damp patch of beach on the mainland. Dropping him hard she nosed him harshly in the ribs until the pup began to cough and writhe beneath her. When the pup seemed to gain some understand of his surroundings it seemed to fighting to escape her grasp, his tiny needle like teeth sinking into her paw. The dark pelted fem snarled before slamming her free paw onto the pup. "Enough." the words would be enough to alert anyone nearby however, the fem knew that most wolves weren't stupid when a strange wolf has a pup within her jaws reach.

Her teeth barred to the writhing pup now forced to face her, she called out to the sea king and only himself. It was enough that she was deep in his territory however, if anyone dared cross her it would be at the expense of the youth. Only the scent that lingered on the pups coat was enough to stay her fangs. Her eyes cast a glance into the brush and back to the pup. "Tell me sea king, what have you been up to? Is this one little pack member of value to you?" Menkhet's voiced was back to more of a sing-song voice her chilling laughter filling the air. After all, she enjoyed the male and did like to keep favorable terms with him but his pack however, might not be so aware.
