He was sad to see his Second go, but understood the urge to leave. He could never leave the family that he set up here, but he knew Scarecrow had seen a lot more of the world already. He took some of his mares left with him, but there was two of his herd staying in the Desert. Cain wondered if they would come out so he could meet them or if they'd stick to the shadows like most of the Second herd. He didn't know the scent that hit him as he was galloping across the sands but it smelled of the Desert. Was a stallion hanging out here that he didn't know about?

As he saw the chestnut figure ahead, he gave a snort and tossed his head. The smell of fear hit his nostrils and Cain slowed a little, unsure of his next step. He didn't want to just chase the stallion out without knowing his purpose here, but the protective instinct in him rose, urging him on. The younger stallion suddenly squealed and turned to run. Cain threw his head up. "Hey, wait!" He called out, hoping the other male would stop. Soon enough they were on the shoreline with the water right behind them. The blanketed stallion finally stoped and turned to face him so Cain slowed to a stop a few feet away, snorting again as he arched his neck proudly and watched the other. The stallion yelled that he didn't want to leave, all but begging and Cain pricked his ears in puzzlement. So he had been here all along? Why didn't he know him?

Then the stallion spoke, saying his name and Cain paused, stomping the sand with a front hoof before he tilted his head. "And who might you be?"
