Skyfire seemed to be watching her face intensely, as if trying to catch her lying. At least for now, she would find nothing, for Nissa was being honest, at least for the moment. She had a silvertongue much like her father but didn't feel the need for it in this situation. While she had targetted Skyfire before, she hadn't wanted any harm to come to the other female just as she didn't want her to come to harm now. Finally, Skyfire said she understood and Nissa let out a breath of relief. As the other pressed close and burrowed in her fur, Nissa tensed at first, not used to such contact. Her father was more of a talking kind of guy. He wasn't one to outright show affection besides in looks or gestures. Her mother, Inara, however, had been a loving parent. Of course, she wasn't in her life as much now as she used to be and Nissa missed her sometimes.
Only when she heard the words of reassurance that she wasn't alone, did the striped girl finally relax into the embrace. Skyfire then stepped back and said she would leave and even though Nissa knew she had asked her to, she couldn't help the feeling of disappointment because she had made a friend, only to have to say good bye. But then Skyfire started to say something and the girl leaned in with interest, her ears pricked as her eyes lit up with intrigue. Right when her impatience was too much and she was about to ask for it, Skyfire spoke. Sister of the Light? Nissa tilted her head in utter confusion of the title. What did it mean? Her father would probably not like it at all, just by the name. It sounded like some goody-two-shoe kind of thing. She was about to say it wasn't at all her style, but she listened anyway as Skyfire went on to describe what it entailed.
It was an interesting role, to be sure. Keeping the peace didn't sound so bad. She didn't want war between the packs anymore than anyone else did. She knew she was no Healer though. It was the last parts that made her cringe, her features almost sad at the realization that she might not be the best for this job, after all. She shook her head. "I don't think I would fit this job. I don't want you hurt, but I'm not harmless. I've hurt others. I've...killed." She almost whispered the last word, her gaze going to the ground as she avoided Skyfire's eyes. She didn't want to see the look of disgust she would obviously have on her features upon hearing her new friend was not a good wolf, after all. She didn't want to lose her new friend so soon, but she couldn't see how they could be friends with such different views. But as she looked at the ground, she thought about how it might look. It looked like she was ashamed of who and what she was. And that wasn't it, at all.
So she lifted her gaze back to the other female and her gaze hardened a little in resolve. "I come from a line of cannibals and vampires, Skyfire. I feed on my own kind. I am not the one you want as a Sister of the Light, though I see the appeal of such a group. I hope you find what you're looking for." She hoped it didn't come off as too cold or heartless. Her gaze softened after she spoke to try to cushion the blow. But she couldn't help but tilt her head and ask with curiosity, "What's a Laughter in the Wind? Wouldn't that make me a jester or something?" She wrinkled her nose at the thought. She didn't want to be the joke of any group, even if it was for a good cause.
