I knew something was up but it couldn't be on the KC board. it was on Illinois. How refreshing, somebody invested some time to write a great article abt the old boomer days. But one remark, sure caught my attention...a guy said ya can't find a radio to buy anymore. Predictable. If radio as an industry is going to save itself from extinction, it needs to bring back content to bring young people back to it.

I think its not music as much as it is personality jocks to get people to listen at home in a medium that can compete with big screen TV. Cable's already got a million good music channels, not sure who listens to them tho, never saw an article researching it.

But it does strike me that the braintrust at your various headquarters' better try some innovation and quick to analyze the potential marketplace of today, and fill its needs if they're not already being met while your bosses napped running yesterday's radio.

Sounds to me like radio needs to start sellin home radios! That'd be a good reason to organize a local radio association to do a city wide campaign, and if it works, other markets will be watching and listening.

Wondering if your GM's and SM's should get together for lunch to discuss your futures.
