Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Blowing hard after the scuffle with the half-blind mare, Işıksız turns to regard the stallion for whom he has fought. Instead of gratitude, the man's eyes snap coal-black with what looks like resentment. It gives him pause, and he grants the overo space as they leave the shores of Atlantis. The 'Teke swims languidly through the warm waters and watches Jabari's body language grow tighter and more flexed, notes the severe slant of his ears as he steps first onto the shores of the Lagoon, and sighs a little to himself. So much work to be done, it seems.

Işık hauls himself out of the water and pauses to shake himself off, flicking each hoof tidily before giving his sparse tail a definitive snap. He is about to stride forward and greet Jabari when who should interfere but the gatekeeper of the Lagoon himself, that painted fellow, who aligns himself parallel to the overo in exactly the same way he fell into step beside Işık during the snowstorm. No doubt he intends to interrogate and then likewise bully this innocent stallion who has had the audacity to cross the border, but Işık is not about to let that happen. This stallion is his business.

He strides purposefully after Jabari, coming up on the chestnut-and-white stallion's far side with respect for the reach of his hooves, and levels a nasty look in Rehoboam's direction with his ears slicked back. "Careful of this one," he warns Jabari. "He's got control issues. Terrible trait in a family man, don't you think?" His eyes narrow as he flings the barb at Rehoboam's feet, and then his attention sweeps over Jabari.

His expression relaxes and his ears swivel forward. Işık knows better than to don a winning smile in the face of his captive's fury, but his voice is much warmer and full of welcome as he addresses the overo, pointedly excluding Rehoboam: "I'm sure you have questions. There's a glade this way with some proper grazing, if you'd like to get comfortable?" He is determined to separate the two painted males, and have the private discussion Jabari is owed away from the Marauder's meddling.
