I was at the Brisbane Airshow yesterday at Watts Bridge where Army had a MRH-90 Taipan and a ARH Tiger on display. I had a chat to the SGT loadmaster of the Taipan and noticed he was wearing a brevet with an 'A'. I asked what the 'A' signified and was told 'Aircrewman'. "Why?" I asked. "Army decided to get away from the name 'loadmaster'. I think Navy also use the same title (aircrewman).

I also asked what the back-seater of the Tiger was called and was he a commissioned officer. Yes, the latter and called a 'Combat Captain'; or similar. I don't know what type of brevet the combat captain wears.
