PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

The land was quiet, despite the season. The silence was painful to bear, if only because the red-gold General kept expecting Oswin's voice to rise above the rest in a declaration of her intent to run for the lead spot again. But the call never came, and the sisters remained without a leader to guide them. Even Bane had disappeared, leaving Roisin to shoulder the burden of the Peak leadership by herself. It was a heavy weight to bear, one that had left deep furrows in the creases above Roisin's eyes and had stolen many of the smiles from her lips.

She heard the soft murmur of unknown voices on one of her normal patrols, and oriented toward them with suspicion. The Peak had been visited recently by an equal share of friends and foes and the little General was not so willing to trust blindly anymore.

What met her gaze were two very similar creatures of outlandish proportions, their impossibly long legs propping equally large bodies high up in the air. They reminded her for one terrifying moment of Tyr and she felt her inner hackles raise at the connection. Their coats did nothing to assuage her sudden fear, either. Like the Lagoon's bastard general, they were spotted and freckled across their rumps... but that, thankfully, seemed to be where the similarities ended.

The stallion's voice reverberates in the narrow space and Roisin's dark-rimmed ears ticked forward to listen before settling loosely back as she raised her head. "Roisin," she answered simply, her voice neutral despite the suspicious narrowing of her eyes. "General of the Peak." Last woman standing, she thought to herself.

"All sisters are welcome in the Peak," she offered in response to his statement of intent. "What is it you seek refuge from?" She asked further, turning her gaze to the girl herself and offering her the option to respond on her own by addressing her independently. Roisin didn't hate men... mostly. She just didn't trust them, and she'd rather hear the girl speak for herself anyway. The more Roisin knew about her, the easier it would be to see where she would fit into the Peak.

other people feel brave, but i feel like my heart
