Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Surprisingly enough, for the first time in his very long life, plans he put into motion were coming to fruition better than he could have hoped. Not only had he been welcomed into his desired position as the Lagoon boss, but there were even a few more souls drifting in and around the marshlands than were before. He wanted more, of course, it was still far too quiet for his taste, but it was a start and he allowed himself to bask briefly in his success.

He was, however, much busier than he’d been for years prior. Rather than sulk around in shadows and avoid conflict, Psychedelic found himself swimming from one island to the next, not necessarily to interact with the herds there, but to study them. Who was it who had the largest herds among the islands? Who was it who didn’t keep a close enough eye on their little prizes? Eventually he knew one of these excursions was going to allow him the opportunity he was waiting for and he was going to be able to sneak one of them away, trap them in the Lagoon and show his new brothers that he could come through on his promises.

Then the ball would finally, really get rolling. He could hardly wait.

Returning from one said excursion to Atlantis, Psychedelic skimmed the edges of the Lagoon shallows until he found the firm beach he wanted to climb up, letting the water roll off his shimmering coat in waves as he did so. His pale hair stuck close to his skin and he shook, almost irritated with the sensation. Pushing forward, the Lagoon boss walked further into the territory, lowering his muzzle to the ground and huffing soft breaths as he sniffed here and there, trying to pick up any scents he came across. Some were old and stale, but there were a few fresh scents, a few of his brother’s passing through or even…

A smile split across Psychedelic’s lips.

Well, well, well…

The little voice matched Psychedelics own intrigued thoughts and his grin stretched wider. While on Atlantis he hadn’t missed that the scent of the colt who’d gotten the Shore after he abandoned it was gone, replaced with a mare’s smell, he hadn’t given much thought of what any of that meant aside from a change in leadership. It appeared it had also meant a dear old friend had been left without a home.

The dunalino changed his path, walking a little more quickly along the trail he’d picked up off the buckskin stallion. He caught sight of him up ahead, through the trees, lying in the water, and only then slowed his pace. Psychedelic moved casually into the opening, quick to speak as soon as he was close enough to be heard. “Well now Sunshine, I didn’t think you’d miss me this much just to come all the way here just to see li’l old me. I’m touched.” He practically purred the last word, but the grin on his face said it all - Psychedelic knew damn well Annubis hadn’t come to the Lagoon to see him.

Still, their banter had been very amusing to him, so he just couldn’t help but make sure to kick off this meeting in a similar fashion.
