Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Another day was passing without any real sense of understanding for Orphiel and his current situation. By his own principle he wouldn’t leave the islands, but he wasn’t certain he fit into the changes that were overcoming the Lagoon. He had already proved that he was less than skillful in battle, particularly when it mattered, and the idea of poking fun at families around the islands just to be mean didn’t sit well with him. He hadn’t heard a purpose he found meaningful to the new leadership’s goals, but he was feeling like the minority as more brother’s gravitated toward the changes. He was beginning to feel like an outlier and wondering if it would be better if he just… fell in line. He wasn’t sure what choice he had other than that.

Daddy Orphiel! A young girl’s cry split the air and, despite how long it’d been since he’d heard the sweet voice, Orphiel recognized it immediately. All his dreary thoughts of his own loss were immediately chucked aside as he became alert, calling quickly back out, “Devi?! Devi, where are you?” He picked up his dark hooves, moving quickly in the direction he thought he’d heard her call from.

What was Devi doing in the Lagoon? Orphiel needed to find her before any of the other bachelors did.

He sloshed and splashed and pulled himself from a patch of mud he should’ve known better to run straight through, then wound through a tightly grown grove of trees, over packed down lumps of snow, and finally into a clearing where his worried eyes landed on Devi at last. She was a sight to see with tears stained dark down her cheeks and her sides heaving. “What is it, what’s wrong?” He asked quickly, moving toward her without stopping until he was close enough to grab her up and embrace her tight, his heart pounding.
