Aldebaran had been right, although brutal, to tell them that something was wrong with his nephew - that wrong would be their undoing and he needed to be put out of their misery. It was rare for Aldebaran to be outright violent or so decisive, but they had now learned what ignoring Shu’s own beloved’s warning meant.
His son had fallen. Was gone. Azalais had taken time to escape the Dunes and the reminder that her son would not return. Al Maha had moved them from the oasis that had once been their home - moving instead to the one his uncle Antares had once claimed. It was his first act as the remnants of the Sadim’s leader. "Blach blah blach." Niyat had given grace to Helios, Nashira had left them, the uncles all had left to the motherland to wait for Amirah to be freed, Edasich was killed by Atik-- the young left behind with himself to prevent their ailing on the long road home.
Murzim was still somewhere amongst the dunes doing nothing at all useful - likely chased down by Ain who saw the red stallion very much like her father whom she missed. Regret was probably still harassed by his little-wife, barely old enough to know the meaning of such a thing - yet claiming Regret like he were some lost knight in need of a cause.
He stands on the tall dune overlooking the now-his dual oasis and he sighs, his mooncrested forehead warmed by the growing sun in the sky. He could only hope that this new beginning would not end in another tragedy for the now much dwindled Sadim.
