This is what I heard so take from it what you will. Upper EMS brass talking about 5-10 BLS ambos to start by hiring single role EMT-Bs. They would be fire dept. employees and after 6 months to a year on the job can enroll in paramedic school paid for by the city. I heard 12 hour shifts and BLS ambos not in firehouses but elsewhere. Maybe run out of the hospital like other cities.
