Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

are there limits to any emptiness?

He was sure his grandfather would not be too happy to learn that after successfully pushing the Lagoon bachelor out and keeping him from driving Leukos to the Lagoon, that is exactly where the young stallion went. As Luthien’s nearest shore was the Peak at the northern side of the isle, he spent the day trailing down the length of the gathering island, not allowing himself to be in any particular hurry. Having spent a good part of his years growing up between the Prairie and Paradise, Leukos had grown more and more independent as he grew older.

As Lilija’s attention turned toward his younger sister and then his younger brother, Leukos was awarded the same freedom Iona had once seized. Curiosity accompanied it and drew him down toward the Lagoon.

There was much about the Lagoon that Leukos didn’t know. He had been told it was a place where stallions without territories to reside lived together, and his grandfather had mentioned periods where they had been a plague on the island herds. Yet his grandfather had also confessed that there had been a few years where it was the only home his great-grandfather could find, and from there he had found one of his longest and most trusted friends. Zevulun had also told him that when he, Raziel, and Ramiel returned to the islands, it had been a young bachelor in the Lagoon who found them in a storm and led them to shelter and welcomed them back to the islands. So it seemed even while there were stories of wretchedness, there was possibly some good, too.

What would Leukos find if he was there? He wasn’t particularly bothered that his sire had managed to drive off the bachelor who came for him… shouldn’t he make up his own mind about where he wanted to live and what he wanted to support?

The sun was already dipping toward the horizon, around three hours left until setting, by the time he stopped where the increase in the stallion's scents told him he was arriving at the Lagoon. He was quite far inland where the ground was still dry, opposite of where he’d heard it opened into mud-flats and swamplands and grew somewhat difficult to navigate. Leukos did what he could to avoid walking toward those areas, but continued inland, deciding if he was meant to come across someone here, he would.
