Reh hadn't met many mares taken here against their will with young children who were ever happy to see a bachelor, though there was a first for everything. As she explained who she was and where she was from, he had to clamp down on his emotions before they could show on his face. In revealing that someone named Snapdragon was her lead, she had confirmed what he already suspected: Temblor was gone. Which meant that Celestine had been freed... and had still not come back to him.

He latched gratefully onto the next bit of surprising information that she shared. She seemed to somehow know details of the Lagoon's inner workings and policies. Nahawi releasing the trinkets was news, of course, but considering how many times the Lagoon had tried to reform itself in the past, Reh hadn't believed that others would believe such a thing despite its veracity. Unless Nahawi somehow knew this Snapdragon and this Launching Tides. This seemed unlikely, considering they shared no familial resemblance and the Lagoon was a full-time job, but Rehoboam could see no other options.

"Not all of the brothers ascribe to that same ideology," Reh explained quietly, watching her. And with the Boss being so young and still finding his feet, he hadn't exactly put any edicts in place for the brothers. Reh could go on to explain that there was no guarantee that she would be released now, with elections looming. Nahawi's behavior as of late had been a little all over the place, and with his title now hanging in the balance, Reh wasn't sure he would risk irritating the brothers by releasing their hard-won prizes.

And without a rank, Rehoboam could hardly do anything about it himself.

As she called him sir, his frown deepened and he had gone silent for a moment before replying. "But I can do so, at least until Nahawi returns." Once the tobiano knew what Nahawi's next move would be, he would have to start making his own now that the yoke of a nomination hung around his shoulders. He cocked his hip and lowered his head slightly. "How well do you know Nahawi?"
