Re(2): ALS Downgrade Follow-Up

I'm not talking about the "upcoming contract", which will be valid for less than a year, and then it start all over again. The future contract could easily be amended that no requirement for cross trained paramedics in exchange for 10 less variances a day for example, or they will maintain the certification but be detailed to an ambulance in addition to working a fire company once every 30 days. The EB and the membership would vote yes as long as a retro check is involved, pay raises and delay the contract by oh let's say 3 years. Here's a good example...since the EB is so "outraged" over the downgraded ALS companies, what language did they include in this "future contract" to prevent it from happening so often? Has it been agreed upon that a FFPM going to an ambulance is now agreed upon that it's counted as a variance? Is a downgraded ALS company going to be considered a variance? That's the only way to make the city rehire a FFPM, since that's what the EB is yelling about. Ask the questions, because the writing is on the wall to end it.
