Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

..there's beauty in the breakdown..

This was getting old. Was there nothing she could say to him that he wouldn't trow right back into her face? Perhaps she had been deluding herself, to think that she could help him when he so obviously didn't want to be helped. It saddened her. She turned away from him, she just couldn't look at him anymore. It was pity she felt, pity that made her speak when she knew she should have left him where he was, wallowing in whatever self delusions he could think up. Pity and something else. She did care about him. And she couldn't stand see him in this state. He had never been this pathetic looking when they were younger. What had happened to him in the years of her absence?

She sighed. He could blame her. He could blame her all he wanted but it wouldn't change the reality of it. Why couldn't he just see it? Why did he try so hard to drive her away when she was there, willing to help him? "Did you ever think that maybe you were the reason everyone left you? I know you have never been far from my thoughts, Tycoon. But, I wasn't going to sit and wait for you to change what can't be changed." It hurt to think he lumped her into a category along with everyone else. That she was the same as the rest. She had tried so hard back then. But he never really saw her, he couldn't have. It was always about what he wanted, #### everyone else. If only things had been different. But, life was always full of those "what if" moments. To hope to change what's already taken place was foolish. The past is what it is. His slight movement caught her eye, forcing her to focus her attention on him once more. So it stung to hear what had to be said. Good. While she never intended to cause him pain, she couldn't help but feel a little satisfied that it happened. He needed a taste of his own medicine.

It was her turn to flinch at his words. He didn't want her. She wasn't needed. Ouch. And, while he was obviously not fine, what could she do? She was unwanted, he didn't care. Well, he never seemed to care, but to hear those words straight from him, now, when she was trying so hard to be here for him. It wasn't easy. She watched him move away from her, but her gaze lowered to the ground, so she missed him turning back to look at her. She should just let him go. she'd be better off, and he'd be happier without her around to bother him. If only she could will herself to move. She'd go, turn her back on him, leave just like the rest of them. And yet.. here she was, trembling slightly, staring at the cold earth beneath her paws, but not really seeing it. Frozen to the spot, looking like an idiot. Why did she subject herself to his torture so willingly? She wanted to run, leave again and forget this place existed at all. Forget that he existed, that she ever bore his offspring. They'd been well enough without her in their lives, she needn't go look for them. But.. No. she wasn't going to let him do this. He wasn't going to chase her away. He could hate her, he could think her nothing but a pest, but she sought him out for a reason. He was lying to himself if he truly thought he was fine. If he kept it up, he'd surely die. she couldn't have that. Regardless of his horrible demeanor, she would miss him if that happened. She rose and took a hesitant step towards him. "No, you're not." Another step. "You're not at all fine, Tycoon. Just look at yourself." One more. "You're a mess." Closer still. "And even if you don't want me, I'm not leaving you here alone." She came to a halt, her gaze lowered. She didn't want to see him if he was glaring again. She was afraid of what she might glimpse in those orange eyes. "You're.. not fine." She said it once more, her voice faltering. She whined softly. If only he could just see it..
