Nine was slowly becoming accustomed to the life of a fairy. She was no longer frightened by her feet or hands where hooves were once placed. Walking was now very easy, almost instinctual for her. She rarely stumbled and moved very gracefully across the ground, even when it became uneven. She still could not fit herself into clothing and feel comfortable. She understood that she could not go naked; she had learned that very early in her new life as a fairy. For some reason nudity was frowned upon here in Shaman. As a horse she never had to worry about such matters, clothing and personal hygiene were things that didn’t exist. At all. But Nine couldn’t get herself to climb into tight clothing, so she wore a light blue dress that complimented her eyes. It hung a little past her knees and was cinched to fit her waist, but other than that it hung loose. She let her white/blonde hair grow long and loose, it was wavy and almost unruly, so much like her mane had been.

She couldn’t make herself put on a pair of uncomfortable shoes either. She preferred not to be wearing anything on her feet at all, her soles had become hard from walking barefooted all across Shaman. Today, though, she had slid on a pair of light blue moccasins. She had brushed through her long hair a little bit, but it still hung down to her hips in a wavy white mess. Nine knew she had the ability to change her hair and eye color, but she wouldn’t. When she looked into mirrors or water, she saw herself still.

Today, Nine had tidied herself up slightly and put on a pair of shoes to make a visit to Shaman’s King Arthur. She felt that it was important to make this trip; she needed to make herself useful. She had taken a rest from her previous life. She had her time to rest from the hectic days of being Queen, of babysitting a kingdom. Now that she had been all rested up, somewhat adjusted to having hands and feet and needing to eat something other than grass; she knew she had to make some more changes. Nine could not just be a wife; she couldn’t hang around making babies and cooking for a man. She couldn’t have done that in her previous life and she couldn’t do it now. That wasn’t her and never would be. She walked towards the castle, looking around calmly. She had never been one to become nervous easily, it was something she had gained in her previous life, those nerves of steel.

Nine walked across the castle floor, quietly. It was really peaceful in here, there was very little tension. Where she had come from, kingdoms were not like this. It was amazing to her to see this. She looked at all of the detail with her pale blue eyes, studying everything so very carefully. She inhaled a scent so foreign to her. Everything was very foreign to her. Nine continued to walk, taking slow gentle steps, until she reached the office that she believed to have been Arthur’s. She knocked carefully with her thin white fingers, ”King Arthur, I would like to speak with you Sir.” She said calmly and stood there patiently. She had never addressed her kings as Sir, and had never been pleased by getting called Ma’am, but she didn’t know about these fairies. They were all so different.
