*Name: Kali-Ma
*Gender: Femme
*Appearance: Fair, short dark hair, dark brown eyes. 4 foot nothing.
*Defects: Including mental defects? Kali-Ma is by nature extremely depressed. I would class that as a defect I guess.
Age: 17
Personality: Kali-Ma takes pleasure in almost nothing. Very depressed character and yet she never seriously considers suicide, just expects very little from life. Whether she is loyal to anyone or anything is unknown, so little is known about her as she's not a big talker. Secretly she does like the company of others (I wouldn't say 'friends' because she has none), possibly because it saves her from the loneliness that seems to haunt her. Kali likes to complain and make sarcastic comments about how much she is enjoying the weather/day/life in general.
History: Due to her never telling anyone anything, there are some stories as to where she came from but no one really knows for sure. Probably the most accurate is this; Born of a whore that didn't want her, Kali's happy life began. Growing up with the emotional-roller coaster that was her mother, she quickly came to despise emotions all together. By age 13 she spontaneously decided to leave her mother and travel where ever her feet may take her. At 15 she met* her familiar, Oskar. Not entirely sure as to why she chose him, as he was the complete opposite of her. That, and he annoyed the sh*t out of her. Oskar is a big black crow, almost unnaturally large, and with bright blue eyes.

Sample post:
Bright sunny day.
"Great, can hardly see where I'm going cause I'm squinting so hard."
Kali muttered away to herself in frustration. Anyone else would have blessed the gods for their kindness, not Kali. Rain - bad cause it's cold. Sunshine - bad cause it's too bright. Beautifully warm evening - bad cause it's not bright enough. There was always something to complain about.
Oskar rolled his eyes while sitting upon her shoulder in typical lazy-Oskar fashion.
"Don't roll you're eyes at me, stupid bird. Do you know how increasingly heavy you are? Honestly, what do you eat? Get off your plump ass and fly!"
Oskar ruffled his feathers, pretending to be offended and promptly hopped off her shoulder and in two wingbeats was down on the grass.
"That's no better."
Though she was pleased that he was off her shoulder.
"I'll have you know I only fly when necessary. Just like you only smile when - oh wait, that's right..you don't smile."
Kali swung a kick in his direction. She knew it wouldn't reach him.
"I don't smile because there's nothing to smile about. You don't fly because you're scared of heights!"
At this Oskar stuck his beak in the air, highly offended now. He preceeded his bird-waddle out in front of her, a little bit faster now, as though storming off in a tantrum. Refusing to look in her direction he just called out over his wing.
"I don't want to talk about it."
Kali snorted a little at his comment, some could have even interpreted it as a laugh of sorts. Looking about herself she came to a large oak and sat down against it. The bark was rough against her skin but the shade was soothing. She closed her eyes for what felt like a few moments.

There were lanterns.Thousands of them. Gathering in the dark they were forming a large ring. They started to sway, first just from the wind and then it appeared as though they were dancing in time to each other. The image grew vague and then the lanterns were travelling up a flight of stairs, going to the masters calling. "Please don't go..." The lanterns just continued to spiral upwards until the last one flickered out of sight. They left Kali standing there, alone in the dark. A tide of water started to lap at her ankles and it grew higher and higher till it was at her throat. She couldn't swim and there was no one there to help her. Her hands were bound and she was going under...

A tapping sound woke her. Opening one eye sleepily she could see Oskar with a long, sharp stick in his beak trying to skewer grubs through a hole in the trunk of a tree a few meters away.
"Yum. You preparing dinner?"
She looked over at the meal of 3 grubs he had collected so far with just a little disgust on her face.
"Not for you I'm not. You hurt my feelings."
Kali-Ma sighed and got up to where he was perched on the lowest branch. She could see the humour in his eyes.
"Get out. You don't have feelings."
A slight smirk crept onto her face. And if birds could smile there would have been one on his.
"Alright then, eat your feral dinner and then we're going to finish our delightful journey to Shaman."
"Why of course, m'lady. Anything for you m'lady."
Oskar's sarcasm was obvious. His bright eyes twinkled.
"Mm."
Kali didn't bother retaliating, she just slumped against the tree and stared aimlessly into the horizon. It was dusk. Wild birds were screeching for each other as they settled down for sleep and the creatures of the night had started to stir in the woods. A four smell filled the air - Kali couldn't put her finger on what it was but it reminded her of vinegar and rotten bodies. She covered her nose and mouth with her tiny hand and signalled to Oskar that it was time to move. The winds had changed and she didn't want to be moving any closer to what ever that was.
