Eli stared blankly at his reflection for a time that was unknown to him. He stood quietly in the still water ankle deep listening to the gentle murmurs of gurgling water spinning in circles to the right of him surrounding a slick rock. Here was the only place that Eli felt almost comfortable. The desert was so dry and shallow a drastic climate change from the swaying palm tree’s and rolling waves back home. Often his mind wandering to how wonderful it felt being in palm tree paradise and how lucky he felt for being able to stay there, underneath the wing of two different stallions. However; if it was too good to be true it usually was in when Dante moved in Eli moved his girls and himself out. Being still niave and young, Eli however also understood that giving his children a place to call home, was far more important then trying to cling on to a fantasy. At Palm Tree Paradise was just that, a fantasy.

As he felt the wind tickle his cheeks Eli lifted his soft spoken blue eyes watching the leaves calmly sway this early evening. Apollo would be setting soon being replaced by the moons pale light as stars lit up the dark sky like rays of hope for the future. This thought made Eli sigh in sorrow thinking of Hope again imagining her pale form caressing his nape in the way she always had. He still remembered how delicate in color her pale eyes were compared to his own blue. They were silver nearly gray and he remembered how beautiful she looked with her forelock clinging around her soft jaw line watching him with innocence. Hope was everything that Eli was not, she was the one thing that kept him alive even though so many nights he wanted to give up. Hope was the only thing that Eli lived for and now with her gone our young stud was completely lost

“each day is a gift not a given right” hearing her soft tones ring in this head Eli smiled remembering how he wrinkled his nose at her as they laughed. He truly believe you could see the soul through some ones eyes and Hope always had this distant look to her, as though there was something much deeper within her, something much greater then what she allowed the unknowing stranger to see. Eli could almost feel her breath trembling on his pale skin before he snapped out of his memory and stood staring at the tree still. Closing his spheres Eli sighed and tried to feel her standing next to him.
