Life was changing, the seasons were as well, no children would be coming his way for this season but he didn’t really mind, family was family and that was all that really mattered in the end. The rays of the sun shot over the horizon as the sun began to set over the soft swells of sand that rose around the desert. Despite the name it wasn’t as barren as everyone believed it to be. It was its own oasis. To the south there was a pebbled shore that led to and from the water to the sandy shore of the desert. There were large trees, almost tropical like but not in their own way that lined the shore to one side, and then it merged into large oaks, pines and firs that coated the desert, creating a shade that was oh so welcomed. Anubis felt like it was his own paradise in a way. He didn’t need Palm Tree Paradise to be happy, because in reality, it had been his grandfather’s place, not his fathers, so in reality, it wasn’t in his or Eli’s legacy to take over, because it should have rightfully gone to the eldest son, which by Anubis’ memory, was long gone but not dead. Things in reality just didn’t make sense because of things such as that. But it didn’t bother him too much, he preferred somewhere that his family had been born on, but somewhere that he could start over on. And so he stood in the crest of the sand, not really waiting for anyone in particular, but just waiting. ** [Anubis]
