Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Vendetta slowed his pace, his conscious telling him to think several paces ahead of this game. It was time to tread extra carefully now, while he was still far out of earshot of the enemy forces. The large wolf's paws slowed to a crawling pace, each footfall placed carefully so as not to make a sound. The black, white, and red brute hugged the ground a tightly as he could, keeping close under the towering pines for cover. Icy blue eyes traveled slowly around him, ears perked and keen for sound. But it was neither of those senses that caused him to freeze mid-step.

Sensitive nares, highly tuned to the frigid mountain air, flared, catching one scent out of the enemy group that was quite close by. Very slowly, Vendetta placed his paws down to the icy mountain floor, turning about and scenting the air to get a better handle on this enemy's standpoint. Nose to the air, the large brute carefully picked his way toward the stray enemy, stopping only at the faint sound of disturbed branches.

Pale blue eyes narrowed at the bouncing branches of a pine about fifty meters over a small ridge in the mountain's slope. Vendetta hugged the thin stalk of the nearest pine tree closely, taking cover under a low-hanging branch as a dark figure took to the sky from that spot in the near distance. He watched the beast circle away from him, surely scanning the area. He knew his presence was known, but certainly not his whereabouts.

The brute's fur bristled slightly, the thick Ice Pack winter coat making him look even larger than his actual giant size. Cautiously, he stalked closer to the smell of Fire, crouching among what undergrowth he could find. Icy blue eyes caught the other then, another wolf dark in shade and slightly over average size. Through deadened growth, Vendetta could not make the other out clearly, but saw the enemy spin around slowly, turning his back to him. He watched as the other tried to keep a low profile, skillfully hiding himself within the light coverage Ice Mountain Peak provided. But it would serve him no good.

V let out a low, hushed, beastly growl, teeth baring under black lips. He wanted this one to see him. Even if the other called for help, it would most likely be too late. The brute didn't plan to waste time and knew he could be out of there without a trace to leave behind before any reinforcements reached their spot. Someone was out of luck today.
