 The kids were growing up. Even his.. sort of kids were getting big.. towering even. Obviously they didn't share his blood or anything near his genes. Balderdash's spotted hide did not fool anyone into thinking he was kin to the striped legged brute. Even still, they looked up to him and Nikola like to think he wasn't failing them. Fall was upon them, though his tropical home did not bare any beautiful leaves but there was a little bit of a chill in the air. Perhaps a few degrees lower.. not much but there was definitely a difference.. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking on his part. At least there was a breeze. Moving through the trees in a more dense part of his kingdom, the down King moped about, not really wanting to share his company with anyone. Why pass on such a sour mood? Lowering his head to the edges of the nearest stream, branching off the river that provided them all with fresh water. Nipping at the tips of green blades, the grullo was content to just stand and pretend to eat. That is until the sound of someone running near him took him from yellow to red on the alert meter. His head snapped up and ears shot forward, trying to pinpoint the frantic shuffle of hooves, the sound of flapping wings. Moving forward in a worried trot, he called out, a semi-quiet sound of question.. of caution. Finding Isoke staring down into the water looking a little ruffled, he paused, unsure of how to approach the situation. A quick look around told him that Morgan wasn't near, or at least, not in sight.. and that Brienne with her cute curvy nose.. as weird as it was, he admired it from afar. Clearing his throat he took a tentative step.. "Are joo troubled, ch-- Isoke?" Best save the pet names. If she was anything like the grullo friend, he'd have to watch his manhood. N I K O L A |
