Ebony ears twitched at the sound of footsteps a little way’s off, but he paid no mind to them for the moment, until the voice hit his ears and a fem appeared in front of him. Her tone was soft and her greeting friendly. It was nice to come across someone who was pleasant, something of a rarity. The silver pendant that hung around his neck was mostly hidden in his thick, black fur. A tiny smile made its way onto his muzzle (which he was sure was starting to go a little grey), and he returned her greeting with a pleasant sounding “Good day, miss.”

At her introduction Rex tilted his head, Gelus? It was indeed an odd name, “A name that sounds so similar to jealousy isn’t befitting of a wolfess like yourself,” he said in response, before introducing himself, “I’m Rex, although unlike my name might suggest, I am far from a king. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Gelus.” He stated with a bow, a wider, charming smile tugging at his lips now. It was nice to have company, though he always seemed to attract the company of females rather than males. He wondered why… he was getting a lot older now, not that anyone would really notice, and he forgot sometimes that he didn’t look quite as old as he was starting to feel. Mitternacht was indeed a useful blessing… “So, what brings you to the riverside today, ma’am?” he inquired, his tone laced with curiosity. He didn’t know when he had turned into a polite wolf, but he had long since decided that he preferred it to the way he used to be.
