Traydon River

This river is famously known for its fish!

Syndr trotted along at the edge of Traydon River, heading toward him and Calla's den. Unfortunately, he was on the opposite side of the river to their home, but that didn't cross his mind as being a problem... Not yet. His thoughts were too full of what had happened recently, and, even though one pup had a lame right leg, he was happier than he'd ever been. Smokey trotted alongside him now, getting bigger by the day, Rayne kept running ahead, then doubling back to tell his brother, Kalamata, what was ahead, Kalamata limped along behind Syndr, next to the little Smokey grey dragon, and Calla... Oh, Calla, his wonderful mate. She would be here soon.

As he padded along, he looked across the river, to the small, half-hidden opening to their huge den. Syndr stopped, and that was the time when he realised that they were on the opposite side of the river. He growled at himself, looking worriedly over at Kala, before padding slowly toward the bank. "It seems we have a dilemma."

Rayne was thrilled that Dad had let him scout ahead. He felt sorry for his brother, and kept doubling back, to check he was alright, which got glare and a snapped comment. He didn't know what he was doing wrong, but he still kept checking. He bounded forward, then stopped and bounded back when Dad told them they 'may have a dilemma'. He tilted his head at this, before leaping into the river and splashing through it, climbing up the other bank, and collapsing on the grass, panting. He grinned.

Kala wasn't happy with how he'd turned out. Stupid leg! And stupid brother, too. He knew Rayne was just trying to help, but he didn't need help. He was fine on his own, without creatures 'pitying' him every step he took. As he saw Rayne doubling back again, he yelled, "Just leave me alone!" His brother looked hurt, and ran on ahead without a word. He grimaced as he saw Rayne's legs moving quite perfectly, and he hated the fact that he'd never be able to run. Looking away and up to Dad, Kalamata just heard him say that they may have a problem. The pup snorted as his brother splashed through and lay panting on the other side. But the snort was mostly of jealousy. He'd never be able to do that.

Smokey looked up at his master as he trotted along beside him. It didn't feel so long ago that they had been in the den, marking it, and Smokey had been staring up at the massive ceiling. Things had changed so much. Syndr's voice brought him back to the present. Flapping his small-ish wings, Smokey lifted himself up and over the river, landing on the other side next to Rayne.
