From a summers thread

She cocked an eyebrow as she watched him out of her frosty blue orbs noting his eagerness. Perhaps this means he has yet to develop the bad habits of the stallions before him. Her fuzzy ears flicked forward at his approach a soft nicker escaped her lips as the mare reached out her downy nose to meet his. So many thoughts were twisting around in her cranium as she took all of the stallion in. Play along Winter gal. Play pretty with the other ponies and see where it can lead you. The sun was high in the sky glinting of the frozen grass and white snow only muted by the heavy mist the rolled across the waves inland on a strong breeze scented of saltwater and the cold. Winter took in a deep breath relishing the feeling her lungs expanding with the breath and slowly escaping in a fog of her own. She loved the crispness of the air and the way the snow felt under her hooves. This was her home now and she would be damned if anyone was going to make her leave. I fit here.

Winter softened her gaze letting her frosty shell melt around her hooves as she pulled her nose back to have a better look at her new lead. Green eyes stuck out in the white landscape around then and the chestnut roaning of his handsome face. He was so perky and fresh looking, it sparked a hint of embarrassment inside her as she recalled her appearance in the small stream she had last looked in. She could remember her fluffy golden coat with patches of dried mud on her tummy and legs, her thin appearance from lack of food. Don’t be stupid, he cant judge you if you don’t let him. Winter picked up her head before returning her steady gaze to his excited green eyes. “I had imagined so, Wonka.” She smiled at him sweetly her voice like satin. “My name is Winter, if you are here to stay then I hope you will allow me to as well. I have come to think of the Inlet as my home.” The golden girl moved closer to him and let her velveteen muzzle roam his neck lightly and stopping it against his chestnut cheek. Yeah you still have it. Winter smiled again letting her blue eyes register her delight in having company at last, the nights might not be so cold after all. Stop it you dirty mare. He could leave just like the others dontcha know. She frowned on the inside slamming up walls around her already feeble heart.

Winter flicked her tail letting it brush against his haunches before moving away from him a few steps. “Are you alone? There isn’t anyone else here that I know of, at least I haven’t seen anyone so I hope you don’t mind being stuck with me for a while.” Her eyes danced with laughter as she moved away once more swinging her golden rump as the wind buffeted against her sending chills along her spine and ruffling her creamy locks. Winters ears flicked back as she glanced over her shoulder and nodding her head in an indication he should follow.

"Speech looks like this."
