we already know how it ends tonight

[ let me light up the sky]

She was curious about the two stallions, because even though Tarrant had declared that he was simply moral support, he certainly was the more experienced of the two. Battle scars dotted his pale coat; he held himself with authority. Wonka just seemed to be along for the ride, but from their words, it was the opposite. Who knew? Perhaps over time the young colt would grow into a successful stallion.

Her brown eyes darted over to him, glad that he was not going to make a move on her in her current state. Young bucks were sometimes randy and could not control themselves. She was pleased that both seemed to respect her space, and she focused back on the older stallion. Looking at Wonka pulled on her heartstrings too much, and she loathed to cause herself too much pain.

Her baby would be older than Wonka, now, perhaps ready to strike out on his own with a herd of his own – no, she shouldn’t think about that. Instead, she needed to focus on the here and now. Tarrant was a perfect gentleman, and she offered him a weak smile. “Thank you,” she murmured. She was hard pressed to find her voice, feeling as she was, and was proud when it did not waver.

She gathered that he was aware of her preference for him as he offered her company upon her explorations in the cold world of Tinuvel. Her weight shifted, and she was nervous, but again, she had faith in her abilities. There would be no child out of her this breeding season, nor for the next several if she could help it.

I…would like that,” she managed, and then her attention turned briefly towards Wonka. “Perhaps we can meet up later, no?” She did not want to make him feel like she didn’t like him; it was just his youth and vivaciousness that reminded her of her own, her baby long lost.

She offered Tarrant a winning smile; glad that her coat was finally starting to dry and glad, too, that she was able to function despite her heartache.
