What if life were something meaningful? (The Birth; Any/Badr)

The night was young and, the perlino dun was rather uncomfortable in her resting place. The cool of the air was a blessing in this darkness. The heat of the day had been gettin to her lately; making her more irritable than usual. Things were more tense and, she didn't like making a spectacle of herself. So, Chimeras had slunk off to be alone the last week or so. She had made herself a shadow in the Dunes though, one can hardly hide here. The land is so open save for a few cacti here and there. The dunes themselves shifted throughout the desert and made staying in one place sometimes difficult. She managed enough though.

Slowly, the pale creature's attention drifted and she was almost slumbering. Something awakened the weary mare from her dazed mind though. A kick? Had that come from her imagination or, was it a reality? There it was again and this time, a little more painful. No, this was real and the mare began to panic. She'd never had a child before, this would be her first time. There was something inside of her that was excited though, something beyond the anxiety she had begun feeling. Her body was beginning to ache and she moved; pacing. Her ears shooting back toward her thick; pale strands of hair as those eyes blinked a couple of times. Finally however; those brilliant pale eyes of blue close and a couple of grunts escape the creature.

A scream peels through the air as though it were supposed to be there. Surely if any had been near, they'd have heard the painful cry from the young mare. Her body was wracked with pain as she began to shake from the contractions. Sweat beading along her shoulders and neck. Her lips wobbled a little and peeled back as she worked her jaws together. Nostrils flaring, the mare hadn't a clue what to have expected. This was new to her and, this was not what she'd imagined.

Eventually; the foal slipped from his mother after a few good pushes. Her muscles aching but she was merely tired. Nothing was amiss in her world as she turned upon the foal. Her pale eyes blinking a few times as she worked on cleaning him off. Ears pitched high on her head now as the creamy gold boy bleated a few times. It was not long before she'd been nudging him to get to his feet. It took a little bit but finally, Chimeras had him up and moving on those wobbily legs. His aim as toward his damn, intent on that delightful smell of nourishment. Once he'd begun nursing, the perlino dun called out. Her tone loud and clear for Badr or anyone really. Her boy had been born and she wanted the world to see the buckskin child in all his new glory.

Returning her attention to the colt as he'd taken his fill and was now looking around, Chimeras smiled upon him. Brulee. She murmured. That is your name my little one. Brulee. Watching him as he took his first real steps upon the Earth, she blew a warm breath of air toward him. Be careful now, wouldn't want to trip my boy. Giving a soft chuckle, she wondered who might approach. Whether Badr or someone else might wander across them. In a sense, she hoped his father might but, another would not be unwelcome.
