From a summers thread

things are going well. Pulse is back, I should get to know her, and Solgar should have some mares traipsing about soon. Winter smiled at the thought of the foals that would be born of the others if everyone stuck around. The seasons had changed once again ending the spring and bringing around her most hated season. The moon light cast shadows leaping around the ground from the trees and the swaying grass around her sanctuary. She closed her eyes letting the night sounds lull her to sleep and meditate on the day. Rabbits cautiously peeked from their burrows soft downy white coats shedding to the brown underneath.

She could smell him from her nest in the snow and trees, his acidic scent curling up her soft nose. I should stay here and let him die. she scowled before the heart buried deep inside her chest made her get of her rump and go towards the shore. this will bring no good Her hooves take her where she needs to go, the quickly melting snow squishing under her steps only reminding the golden mare further of the change in seasons. Summer had come breathing its dastardly breath over the inlet washing away her precious snow and cold. Winter’s scowl deepened as she approached. There was and unfamiliar mare by the rotting equine, perhaps it was his mate? She nickered softly to the girl gently brushing her nose on her shoulder hinting she should move over. The golden mare of the Inlet looked down, the smells of infection and blood the only thing running through the summer night air. “Well you have gotten yourself into a bit of a mess haven’t you then young sprout. “Winter dropped her head to nose around the wound but not touching it the smell of rot curling her nose and flicking her ears back. “If you swam through the salt you will be alright, but that must be stinging something fierce.” Her coat shimmered in the moonlight as she turned to the mare with warm blue eyes. “We really need to get your stallion here off the beach. Id rather not have his carcass rotting in such a pretty spot. If you help me we can get him over to that cave." Winter nodded towards the cliffs not far from the beach that were usually magnificent in their robes of ice, but were now muddy rocks. The mare turned back to the roaned fellow in the grass. “Come on then chap up you go, you’re a strong lad, that’s why you made it this far.” She moved around to his other side and nosed at his shoulder, pushing him to rise. “Its just one bite mark, with some time and rest it should heal, maybe. Well I don’t really know if it will but you just laying here is going to bring out the wolves and scavengers. So get your bloody ass up, you can lean on me for support.” Her voice was none to soft and sweet like its norm but rather coarse and rough. Her heart bringing her out here at this time of night to help the dog food made her a slight bit grumpy.

Where is that Solgar when you need him, id have thought this sort of thing would draw the roan out.
