I just had an email exchange with one of the state biologists. She did tell me she had heard of this incident. She is going to look into this further.She also stated that they do not deny that mountain lions are in Vermont, just that there is no evidence of a breeding population. More to come. As I suspected, this is probably miscommunication, not an unreliable source.
