Re(1): Reasons for my pessimism about many of the alleged sightings posted here.

After doing research on sightings the last 8 months or so, I have to share katchaya's frustration. Fish and Wildlife got the way they are by filtering through dozens of bogus reporrs and misidentifications. However, there are some that are not. Its becoming faster and easier to recognize which these are. Without some pretty firm evidence, I for one am not going to post anyplace and say one has been confirmed. Sometimes it takes some time to gather all that evidence. Most misidentificatons get ruled out pretty readily. That being said now, there are still some open sightings being seriously researched. Enoough evidence is present to a further look at them. It seems that in 2012 the credible percentage that warrants more of a look is getting higher. Thanks for your posts. I only look at sightnings in the Western part of Massachusetts, and sometimes assist in CT.
