not everything is dark

Kieron
not everything is dark

Kieron had been strolling the borders on the north end, when a shrill cry echoed on the south end of the forest. It definitely was not a challenging call, but one of… lost? Picking up his daggers, he moved swiftly through the thicket, winding and weaving his frame through the trees. As he charged ahead, a quick smile flickered on his maw, as he couldn’t stop thinking about Vivianna’s acceptance to his proposal. He figured she would already have welcomed the visitor by now. And he was grateful that he could rely on her to help him out with little things that seemed to always pop up whenever he was on the other side of the terrain.

It was a gorgeous autumn day, and the thought of little one’s running about when spring arrived made his stomach do flip flops. He couldn’t wait to see the little rascals. Vi had been concerned with only being able to provide fillies, but the truth was, a filly or a colt, Kieron would love Vi all the same, and he still wished for her to take the position as lead. He was ecstatic when she had accepted, coming to the realization that he was okay with fillies.

As he neared the tree-lined border of the woods, his gaze fell on another fatale that resembled Vi, only different colouring painted her torso. He stopped on the edge of the line, and without knowing, compared Vi to this new mare, and Vi was so gorgeous. Her pelt glistened and shimmered under the fall star. He was lucky and he knew it. He never could have imagined ever feeling this happy. He just wanted to run circles around Vi and kick up his heels like an old school boy, showing off.

Picking up an ambled trot, he moved in the direction of the two girls, head held poised on broad shoulders. If he had been human, and played football, he would have been a handsome looking quarterback. Flag waivered in the breeze and his mane gently hugged his nape as he neared the posse. Auds forward with great interest, he over heard Vi’s introduction on the whisper of the wind, just barely. He must have just arrived in time.

He smiled at his queen with a gentle and loving look, before slightly nodding his cranium in the new comers direction. He acknowledged her presence, showing some common courtesy, as not many stallions knew how to do these days. He waited to hear what the maiden had as a response, before he would continue on with his own questions.

"What is your name, and how may we help you?"

It was a quick and simple question. Not meant to be intimidating by any means. He did not wish to be forceful with claiming his mares, as he had been there and done that, and it had left little satisfaction with him. To know that when he offered protection, and food, and to have the offer be openly accepted made Kieron feel his ego take a boost and the satisfaction of knowing the mare had chosen to stay with him not because he had to force it upon her, was joy in itself.
