Nalleya gasped for air. All she could do was lay there, her eyes never leaving her kits. The cougar was scared for her youngest, he had come hind paws first. She didn't know what he was doing, she could barely concentrate. Nalleya's sides rose and fell in exaggerated heaves. The tri-colored female leaned closer and gently pulled the younger one toward her, and to help her mate she bathed the small kit with licks.
